Many existing processes are triggered by a patient’s Health Record arriving on someone’s desk. The implementation of an EDM for Health Records is therefore a fundamental change to the way a Trust works which needs to be owned and managed by the Health Records Department. This change will affect over 80% of staff in the Trust and impact on patient safety must not be underestimated. Porters, ward clerks, medical secretaries, doctors, nurses will all see the way they work change.
